Naço's choices in terms of interior architecture, design, color and light perfectly complement the particularities of each site, creating a bold image of the Pathé universe.
"We defined the identity of the multiplexes globally and individually, studying each specific space in the lobby in front of the box office and the area reserved for ticket holders. We worked extensively with materials and shapes to create matching elements, such as the ceiling ellipses which are mirrored on the floor. After exploring the atmospheres created by various lighting and color options, we chose neon lighting effects to accentuate and liven up the spaces."
The following signature shapes identify Pathé multiplexes:
- the ellipse: this unifying element, used in forecourts and lobby entrances, also punctuates the corridors outside the auditoriums and the washrooms;
- the central cone: this enormous light shade personalizes and lends a human scale to spaces which can seem overwhelmingly vast;
- the large canopy: illuminated grooves and suspended elements distinguish the various areas and introduce volume and movement;
- curved elements with stainless steel covered buttered joints: eye-catching corridor features located outside the auditorium doors;
- an oversized roll molding feature softens the tone of the mezzanine.
